Publisher's summary

Freshman Lianne Challice is known to millions of fans as Princess Vindi. But sometimes a silver-screen sorceress just wants to hang up her wand, tell her manager to shove it, and become a normal college student. Too bad that's harder than it looks.

She's never lived a normal life. She hasn't been to school since kindergarten. And getting close to anyone is just too risky - the last boy she kissed sold the story to a British tabloid. But she can't resist trying to get close to Daniel "DJ" Trevi, the hot, broody guy who spins tunes for hockey games in the arena. Something's haunting his dark eyes, and she needs to know more.

DJ's genius is for expressing the mood of the crowd with a 10-second song snippet. With just a click and a fade, he can spread hope, pathos, or elation among 6,000 screaming fans. Too bad his college career is about to experience the same quick fade-out as one of his songs. He can't get close to Lianne, and he can't tell her why. And the fact that she seems to like him at all? Incredible.

Love this Series!

Another great book in this series! There are so many things I liked about this book but can't say without giving spoilers so i'll just say the thing I liked to most is that this book hit a very sensitive subject matter but from a different angle than all of the other books out there. I liked that the author shows us that ALL people can do the wrong thing and not everyone is always honest. I hate that these situation exist in real life but they do. I know that seems vague but anything else will give it away. Great book, Great Series and Great Narration!!!

Good story but...

This is another book in this series that lacks proper preparation on the author & actors part. Even the editor. It's like none of them listened to previous stories. Names are pronounced differently, as well as landmarks.
Kudos to the hockey appreciation and details.

Male voicing women is annoying.

Perfect

What made the experience of listening to The Fifteenth Minute the most enjoyable?

I LOVE this series! With familiar and new characters, the plot was fabulous, characters easy to fall for, and development perfect. The performance as well as the excellent narrative keep me in rapture.

Sweet and enjoyable.

I found this a rather sweet book with an interesting reason providing a barrier to the progress of romance and love in this novel. But slowly, barriers fall away and the romance blooms in a satisfying manner. I was entertained and enjoyed the story.

I loved that neither the hero DJ nor heroine Lianne were tall. It was refreshing to read about people with what I consider normal height.

I read and listened to this on Kindle and Audible (Whispersync). The narrators, Saskia Maarleveld and Nick Podehl (swoon!) are wonderful here – I loved their voice characterisations of Lianne and DJ.

I do have one complaint: a character from a previous novel in the series, The Understatement of the Year, is named Rikker. In the audio versions of The Shameless Hour and The Fifteenth Minute, his name is mispronounced as “Riker” and this inconsistency irked me because I love the character Rikker. Aside from this, the Audible performances are faultless. If you haven't read Understatement of the Year, you won't be bothered by the pronunciation. The Fifteenth Minute is a standalone novel (although I recommend all the novels in The Ivy Years series).

A different angle on a touchy subject

Lianne wants nothing more than to be normal, which is hard for a typecasted child actress. DJ just wants all of his unbelievable drama to go away, but his lawyer wants to make his story the platform for a cause. When they both try to make something of a relationship, the pressures of their lives both brings them together and drives a wedge between them. It becomes a tug if war to see which will win in the end.
This story covers two very distinct issues. One is a glimpse into the pressure of stardom and the struggle of coming of age in front of the camera. The other is dealing with real world accusations but from the angle where a false testimony mishandled to the point of destroying an innocent life.
I liked the way both situations were portrayed with the gloves off and emotions running high. I did think there could have been more to the ending but it was a HEA story and it fit with the rest of the series.
Saskia Maarleveid and Nick Podehl were great in this audiobook. Both were able to bring to life the characters and kept me in the story. I'll be looking forward to more books narrated by these two in the future.

Great characters!

I loved this story! We met Lianne in the last book and I adored getting to see more of her and watching her come out of her shell. She might be a movie star and famous but that has not made her life easier. She finally has some close friends and from them she met her crush. DJ is going through a really tough time, being accused of something horrible that he did not do and trying to figure out how to move forward while trying to locate the truth without hurting anyone else. Lianne and DJ are both interested but due to different reasons, neither are making a move. I loved watching these two come together and the way that they built their relationship throughout the story. I loved watching the way that DJ handles things for the most part. He was trying to be as respectful as possible and trying to keep a friendship with the mess he was in. He didn't want to put someone else in the middle of it but these two just had a magnet that made it extremely difficult to stay away. I truly adored these two and I would love to see more books set at Harkness.
The narrators did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life. I loved listening to this story with the extra dynamics of the voices and emotions that the narrators brought out.

Good Characters and Story Line

I felt like the characters were really relatable even though Leanne is a Hollywood star her character seems to have realistic views of college life and relationships. DJ’s character and emotions were well played by the actor and his story line was emotional and interesting.

Another wonderful story!💜

This was another wonderful story from Sarina Bowen. The characters have great chemistry and I love their banter. There was plenty of family drama as well as angst but also romance. The narration was very good and even though this book was published several years ago, it still bothers me that the pronunciation of Rikker’s name was never caught/fixed. Minor issue I know lol but I loved Graham & Rikker’s story. 😍
Regardless it doesn’t effect my rating.
This is book 5 with an HEA and can be read as a standalone.
I recommend this book/series.
